Café Döbé and The Upstairs recently hosted the California Leaf Bowl, an awards ceremony and celebration full of California brands and cannabis enthusiasts. We filled the back alley and upstairs spaces with brand tables and booths, gathered in the café to announce and celebrate the Leaf Bowl winners, enjoyed local DJs who set the vibe, and drew quite the crowd from the California cannabis community.

With rock n roll photography from Cheryl Alterman adorning the walls, big names in cannabis from all over the state in attendance, and a whole bunch of happy Leaf Bowl winners and fans, the vibes were definitely high and so was the California sunshine.

We’d like to thank the team at California Leaf Magazine, all the sponsors and brands who made this event possible, and the local community for showing up and making California Leaf Bowl 2026 such a beautiful time. We hope more fun gatherings like this are in our near future!

Belly Dance Classes with Camille Coming to The Upstairs

There’s something exciting that just got added to The Upstairs calendar. Who’s ready to shimmy? Camille is offering a new weekly Beginner Belly Dance Class starting on Tuesday, September 1st. We want to see you there!

Move your body. Shake off the week. Learn something ancient.

Bellies, Beats and Bare Feets

Join Camille — a 30-year belly dance veteran — for a fun, judgment-free beginner class in Santa Rosa. No experience needed. Just show up, kick off your shoes, move, and let the music do the rest.

We’ll cover the foundations of belly dance: hip isolations, shimmies, arm movements, and basic combinations. Small group, intimate setting, real instruction from someone who has been dancing since she was 14.

This is not a performance class. There’s no recital, no pressure, no wrong way to shimmy. Just your body, the beat, and bare feet on the floor.

First Belly Dance Class Details:

When: Tuesday, September 1st, 6-7pm
Where: The Upstairs event space above Café Döbé and Doobie Nights – enter from the café door facing Santa Rosa Ave. – at 3011 Santa Rosa Ave, Suite A.1
Who: Anyone is welcome, no experience required

What should I bring?

Yourself, bare feet, and clothes you can move in. Shimmy belt if you have one. Water bottle recommended.

Do I need to have any bellydancing experience?

Nope, you’ll learn the basics and this class is suitable for all experience levels. You will be moving for an hour, so being capable of being active and on your feet for the class is the only prerequisite. No experience with any kind of dance required.

What can I expect to do during the class?

We’ll do a warm-up, foundations, a short combination, and a cooldown. You’ll leave feeling it in your hips and with a smile on your face, and you’ll be guided every step of the way.

How can I ensure there’s space for me in the class?

The Upstairs: Ideal Space for Networking Mixers and Mingling

Over the years, we have hosted several small events in our upstairs space, including Networking Mixers and Chamber Meetings for both the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber and the Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce, both of which we are members of. With the recent remodel, The Upstairs space is ready for anything!

The 2,000 square foot space, with a built-in bar on one end and customizable furnishings, is split into two spaces with two double doors which can be left open to connect the spaces, or closed to create a quieter zone. Attendees can enter through the café downstairs, and if the café isn’t operating, the entire downstairs space can also be used for events. The Portal of Wonder steals the show in the café space, with customizable projection mapping on the opposite wall. One room of The Upstairs opens partially to the beautiful café space below, with great views of the unique sculptural and lighting art.

When we host Chamber mixers, the café and Upstairs spaces are full of people mingling, snacking, networking and building community. These Mixers have been known to have some great raffle prizes donated by local members, and they are a great way to get to know your neighbors. We’re so thankful to be a part of the Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park business communities!

Networking mixers aren’t the only events that are well-suited for the space though! Company retreats and meetings, yoga or dance classes, movie showings, book clubs or craft nights would all do well at The Upstairs.
